Ashley Greene Saves Edward Cullen’s Life
Ashley Greene from the Twilight series spoke with Ryan Friday about New Moon and her nomination for a Teen Choice Award.
The 22-year-old actress, best known for playing Alice Cullen, says her fame came “very very quickly” after Twilight gained tons of unexpected recognition.
“To be honest…everyday [the fame] keeps getting more and more clear,” she said.
She also admitted to Ryan that she’s relieved that her part in the first Twilight wasn’t a feature role.
“I think if I had this big of a part in the first one I would’ve just blown it, I would’ve been so nervous,” she said, “so I’m glad it didn’t happen until the second one.”
Greene’s guessing that fans will have no choice but to feel grateful to her character after they see New Moon because she saves the life of a certain studly vampire, played by Rob Pattinson.
“Alice has a really pivotal role…kinda the driving force that ultimately saves Edward Cullen’s life, so I’m sure she’ll be a fan favorite.”
The Twilight cast will be continuing on without Rachelle Lefevre, who has been replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard to play the role of Victoria.
“It happened really really quickly so I think everyone was a bit surprised,” Green said of Lefevre being replaced, “We were sad to see her go but Bryce is actually with us down training now and she’s such a lovely person.”
Greene is close with her cast mates, but she’s especially friendly with Kellan Lutz, who plays Jacob Black.
“I’m pretty close with Kellan Lutz, we’ve been friends for about four years so before this whole Twilight thing happened so it’s definitely kinda even strengthened our relationship,” she said.
New Moon makes it’s debut in theaters November 20th, 2009.
Greene ended her interview talking about her nomination for “Choice Fresh Face Female” at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.
