Fans of the CW’s “Vampire Diaries” are rejoicing today for both its return tonight and news that later this season fans will be introduced to a new mesmerizing character with a familiar face. Season 5 “American Idol” contestant Lisa Tucker has signed on for at least five episodes, and will portray a witch.

“The entire cast was more then welcoming,” said the 21-year-old singer. “I’ve become great friends with Sara Channing who plays Jenna.”

Lisa was a mere 16-years-old when she auditioned for “American Idol” singing Whitney Houston’s “One Moment In Time” and eventually breaking through into the Top 10.
