“Head Thong” Modeled By Nicole Richie, Vanessa Hudgens, and Security Guard Roger

Nicole Richie‘s clothing label House of Harlow is credited for beginning the buzz around the headthong, which is quickly becoming the most controversial fashion piece since capri pants for men. Nicole debuted her beaded headpiece, also known as a Gold-Crystal Style Bead Five Strand Headpiece, while at Baby2Baby charity event in West Hollywood. She completed her hippie look with a velvet three-quarter sleeve from Sophie Theallet, and a House of Harlow 1960 “Nell” pumps and a vintage snakeskin clutch.

Shortly thereafter Vanessa Hudgens attended a release event for her latest film ‘Sucker Punch’ in Las Vegas wearing another version of the headthong. Two celebrities within one week sporting the same strange headpiece may be a slowly adopted trend, but you know its guaranteed to hit mainstream when a member of the Ryan Seacrest team follows suite.
