Laurieann Gibson’s shown she’s not only a gifted choreographer but a caring mentor as well on E!’s “The Dance Scene“, as we saw with “American Idol” backup singer sisters Destinee and Paris Monroe. This time around Laurieann is extending a helping hand and staging a showcase for unsigned artist Missy Modell whom she met in NYC and feels could benefit the industry with her ‘purity.’

Take a look at the sneak peek below of the upcoming episode where Laurieann introduces Missy as, “an unsigned artist who when I met with her in New york was just so hopeful and pure — the industry needs that purity.”

Laurieann explains her plan of attack as, “Missy is just starting out so I’m doing a showcase for her to get her an A&R and get her a record deal.”

Specifically, Laurieann is hoping Missy will catch the eye of top A&R executive at Universal Motown Chris Anokute, who she says, “can make or break what we’re trying to do.” Adding, however, “he has to see it from the beginning, from the first time he lays eyes on you…he broke Katy Perry and is a visionary.”

Although Missy may have to start small to grow big, Laurieann offers, “even though this stage is in a small club, I remember telling [Lady] Gaga it may be a small pissy club, but to us, it was madison square gardens. So what they see up here is madison square gardens, is 10 million. Because that’s going to produce the artist I want to go see.”
