The alternative-rock band ‘The Flaming Lips’ are known for their psychedelic lyrics and eccentric shows, but they’ve amped up their bizarreness with the packaging for their new album. Instead of using traditional CDs, the band embraced current technology and decided to release their new album “The Gummy Song Fetus” on a USB drive. That’s insanely normal compared to what the USB comes in…a gelatinous gummy shaped like a baby fetus. That’s right, in order to get to your USB full of new music, you must tear through a gummy infant. Looks like they took their album title just a little too seriously.

The USB drive is contained in the head of the jelly baby. The entire gummy is edible, so don’t be alarmed if you have the sudden desire to eat it! Although we admit, it might be hard to stomach the idea of eating anything that even remotely resembles a human fetus. The chewy baby is pink and comes with intructions on how to open the head to retrieve the USB drive. ‘The Flaming Lips’ first released their new album within a baby in Kansas for $30.00. The novel and freaky idea was a hit- the album sold out in one day. Despite the weirdness, fans seemed to gobble up the funky fetus.
