Squid Dances On Your Plate Before You Eat It [VIDEO]
There are many interesting foods which are considered delicacies across the world mainly due to its rarity in nature and the subsequent uniqueness of flavors encapsulated in each bite which make us come back begging for more. However this Japanese dish called odori-don may make you nauseous.
Odori-don is a dish consisting of live squid with its head removed, and is served on top of a bowl of sushi rice, accompanied by sashimi prepared from the head or squid liver, as well as other seafood. Seasoned soy sauce is first poured on top of the squid to make it “dance.” Thank you Kottke.com for challenging our culinary prejudices, and for not letting me sleep tonight.
