Colin stars as a blood sucking vampire who wreaks havoc on a quiet suburban neighborhood in his new movie, “Fright Night.” This thriller is a modern take on an old slasher film that Colin says he really enjoyed: “I was [a fan] of the original. I saw it when I was about twelve for the first time and I loved it, and I still love it! I’ve probably seen it about 12 or 15 times!” After seeing that movie so many times, it’s no wonder he was the perfect candidate for the role of the creepy vampire neighbor.

It can also be intimidating to work on a movie that you’ve seen so many times, and Collin admits that the whole idea of a remake was a bit daunting to him: “I was both dubious and excited to get involved. [Remakes are daunting because] they’re so common now. There’s kind of a legitimate argument against them, they’re lack of originality.”

Despite his concerns about remakes, Collin knew that this version of ‘Fright Night’ would be exceptional: “At the end of the day, I read the script and it was fun. It wasn’t as dark and as weighty as I would have imagined the original script was. And it was a really entertaining read and I flew through it.”
