“American Idol“ alum Adam Lambert dropped a sneak peek Wednesday of his new video for “Better Than I Know Myself,” and it was well worth the wait!

The 39-second teaser shows Adam in a more intimate setting. He’s dressed casual wearing a long cardigan and jeans. The sun is shining through the blinds while Adam is practicing a yoga position. It’s interesting to note that there are two air tanks in the background during his yoga scene. Maybe he needs an oxygen tank to breathe if the person he’s describing in the lyrics ever leaves?
Lambert uses his impressive vocal range to hit the super high notes in the first single of his March 20th album Trespassing. The lyrics deal with a relationship that he obviously isn’t ready to give up on: “If I wanted to leave I would have left by now / But you’re the only one that knows me / Better than I know myself.”

The openly-gay singer, who just celebrated his big 30th birthday on Sunday, told MTV that this video is “like a cousin” to the video for his first big chart-topping hit, “Whataya Want From Me?”
In the behind the scenes clip, the “Idol” favorite says he hopes that the video helps listeners: “look at the lyrics even a little bit differently than they may have first considered them.”
