Introducing Justin Bieber’s New Girl Carly Rae Jepsen [VIDEO]
There is another woman in Justin Bieber‘s life and no we are not talking about girlfriend Selena Gomez. She is Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen, but no need to worry Beliebers there is no romance here. Justin announced that Carly is the newest artist to be signed to record label “School Boy Records.” Jepsen will be working along side Justin and his manager Scooter Braun.
Jepsen announced the exciting news last night on MuchMusic’s “New Music Now” with a special video message from Justin. “When I was in Canada, I heard a song on the radio called ‘Call Me Maybe,’ and I thought it was a smash.” Bieber continued, “So I started doing my research and stuff and found out who it was. Her name is Carly Rae Jepsen and I want everyone to know we signed her so everyone can check her out. She’s gonna blow up,” said Justin.
Carly first made a dent in the music world with her 2008 debut album “Tug of War.” From that record, she released two music videos for her gold-certified singles “Bucket” and “Tug of War” onto YouTube. Those videos scored over 250,000 views combined!
The Canadian native (just like the Biebs himself) then went on to release her latest hit single “Call Me Maybe” which is currently being featured on her VEVO page (CarlyRaeJepsenVEVO). The video has over 2.4 million views (her biggest yet) and has helped her reach over 70,000 followers on Twitter.
The catchy song reflects on life, love and taking chances when asking out a potential mate. The video features Carly gawking at a handsome fella and whether he’s mowing the lawn or fixing his car, Carly is totally smitten!
It’s a fun video with a very surprising ending. Watch it below to see what we’re talking about. While you’re at it, stop by and say hi to Carly on Twitter @carlyraejepsen, share her music with your friends and let us know in the comments below what you think of Bieber Fever’s new addition.
Jepsen’s hit single “Call Me Maybe” is No. 1 on the charts in her native country of Canada and is quickly catching on around the globe. Justin Bieber describes the song over twitter as, “possibly the catchiest song I’ve ever heard lol.”
Jepson’s album “Curiosity” dropped on Tuesday. With the Biebs on board, we definitely see big things in the future for this young star.
