Best known for playing Stifler in the “American Pie” movies, actor Seann William Scott called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Thursday to talk about his new movie “American Reunion” and proposing to his fiancé.
On Proposing To His Fiancé On Valentine’s Day:
“It just seemed right. It just ended up being the time she and I were able to take a vacation and I was like this date is supposed to signify love. I was so excited about it, the moment was so perfect,” Seann says. “I carried it [the ring] with me on the plane. I thought, ‘What if this ring sucks?’ I never thought I was going to get married, I’ve never looked at rings before.” So, was he nervous? “I was just more anxious. I was more excited to do it. I think it was the 3rd day on this trip and I couldn’t wait to do it. Thank God I didn’t even think, ‘What if she says no!’”

On “American Reunion”:
“I thought they haven’t really tapped into the high school reunion, like using that environment for a comedy,” Seann tells us. “I didn’t know that the studio was already thinking of that idea for another film. So, I kind of thought of a story and called the studio and pitched this idea. So, I’ve been part of it for 3 years now. So, it was different, I was pretty much gung-ho about it. Assuming the the script was going to be great, we got everybody back, I’m really happy with how it turned out.”
What Has Stifler Been Up To & How Has He Changed?
“Not a thing. Stifler’s a guy that’s been waiting for his high school reunion the day he graduated high school. He’s got to represent that guy who doesn’t understand why people are getting married or having kids, they have these jobs, society is changing, he just can’t conform to it,” he says. However, Stifler has changed a little for “American Reunion,” Seann tells us, “He’s got this job, you actually see a little bit more vulnerable human side to this guy. He’s not just a cartoon character.”
“American Reunion” opens in theaters everywhere April 6th!
