Celebrating with a healthy serving of good comedy and cheerful spirits at the Hollywood Palladium, The Heart Foundation Gala was seeing stars, as familiar faces gathered in support of medical research. The May 10^th event honored Dr. P.K. and Kimberly Shah with The Steven S. Cohen Humanitarian Award.

According to the foundation’s website, the award is given to individuals who demonstrate a philanthropic spirit and work to better their communities through personal and professional integrity, generosity and strength.

Ryan hosted the evening with celebrity supporters Paul Stanley, Chelsea Handler, along with Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani, who recently confirmed that No Doubt has been hard at work on their sixth album.

Comedian Dana Carvey loosened the crowd with smiles before they enjoyed the smooth tunes of Michael Bublé and the edible art of Chef Wolfgang Puck, who received the award in 2009.

While taking time to honor extraordinary individuals, The Heart Foundation prides itself on promoting healthy heart mentalities to prevent heart disease. All proceeds from the evening’s event will further Shah’s medical research at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. Also in support of the foundation, American Idol announced they will donate $1 of every American Idol Live! Tour ticket sold, and donate to The Heart Foundation’s One for the Heart™ campaign.
