Okay, not really…but a cardboard cutout of the “All Around The World” singer made an appearance at Glassboro High School’s prom on Saturday April 2, the result of a lengthy YouTube campaign by junior Leon Purvis.

Purvis asked Biebs via YouTube to be his wingman at prom, but received no response from the superstar.

Unphased, Purvis moved on to Plan B, a $42 life size cardboard cutout which accompanied him and his actual date, Kaitlyn Wright, for the evening. In the video students and teachers applaud Purvis as he brings the cutout on stage and proceeds to Dougie around it.

However, even though Purvis didn’t get the chance to kick it with Justin at prom, the spectacle attracted the attention of Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, who tweeted Purvis with a special surprise:
