Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Madagascar 3, Crazy Schedules, And Willow’s Hair [AUDIO]
Jada Pinkett Smith called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Friday morning to answer a few random questions about hippos, since she’s starring in Dreamworks blockbuster Madagascar 3, and about being the matriarch of Hollywood’s finest family The Smith’s.
On Keeping Track Of Her Family’s Crazy Schedules:
“You know, it’s just, I put one foot in front of the other. And I have an electronic calendar on one my wall in my kitchen with everybody’s schedules, and you know as the matriarch of the family, matriarch and a patriarch, that’s kind of my job is to kind of oversee what’s happening with everyone.”
On Whether Or Not There Is Competitive Spirit Between The Kids:
“Well, they don’t compete, that’s for sure, which is a great thing, but I will tell you that they are very much sister and brother, meaning their social lives, you know how it with the older brother and the little sister, it’s like, ‘no you can’t come hang with me at the movies tonight,’ so you do have a lot of that, but the great thing is that they’re so supportive of one another.”
On Willow’s New Hairstyle:
“She just feels so much freedom because she’s like, ‘I don’t have to worry about getting up and doing my hair anymore..but I’ve done that before, I went through that phase, you know when I was pregnant with Jayden, I didn’t have any hair either.”
“Now, I want to tell you something, when she first cut her hair, that’s what she wanted, she wanted that buzz cut. And she has two grandmothers, their hair style is just like that, and so when she first cut her hair and I let her cut her hair on the sides, that was the hair cut she wanted and then she just worked with me to do it on the gradient until she finally got that one little piece of hair in the front and she was like, ‘Mom…’”
