Long before Carly Rae Jepsen entered the music scene, Third Eye Blind reigned supreme as one of the top rock bands of the 90s. Arguably, one of their best known singles, “Semi-Charmed Life,” is what catapulted them to mainstream fame in 1997, much like Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” took her from relatively unknown to the primetime spotlight in 2012.

We hold a soft spot in our heart for both performers, whose lyrics document popular culture in a way we can only truly appreciate as the years go by.
