Ralph Lauren/Fashion Foie Gras Ralph Lauren Inspired By ‘Old World Elegance’ When Designing Team USA’s Uniforms [VIDEO]
TODAY show viewers received a sneak peak of the opening ceremony uniforms for Team USA on Tuesday. Surprisingly, the women’s outfit bared a strange resemblance to that of a girl scout uniform. What do you think?

“Ralph Lauren has always been inspired by the Olympics,” said Executive Vice President David Lauren. “We’ve had this special opportunity to work with the team, to look into their archives. Very inspired by the 1948 Games which is the last time that America competed in England. Of course, ‘Chariots of Fire’ has always been inspiring, so real old world elegance brought up to time.”
Old world elegance indeed. But if you are into the classic look, you’re in luck! Ralph Lauren is selling replicas of both men’s and women’s Team USA apparel to the general public. The blazer (pictured above) is $598 and the beret is $55. Who knows? Maybe someone will mistake you for an Olympian.
