It was such a lovely surprise in my life to do it, but even last year when I had to make the decision it was super tough to decide.” The mother revealed her children played a major role in here decision, “As the kids get a little bit bigger it started feeling like it was a lot and something had to give. Something has to give and that’s where I am right now.”
On Jennifer’s Dilema:
“I dread a conversation like this. You’re going to make me cry. I honestly feel that just the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do. That I have put on hold because I love ‘Idol’ so much!” She continued, “I have to tell you that when Benny [Medina] and I sat down to talk about it, it was one of the longest business conversations we have ever had in my life. It was pros, cons, good things, bad things, things we have, and responsibilities. It was just back and forth, and at the end of it, of course, it’s just really going to be hard for me to go. And he was like ‘Please don’t cry.’
On The Future:
“No matter what you guys need over there I’m always going to be here. If you call me and say, ‘We need you to come to the first show!’ I’m like ‘Yes, okay!’ Or ‘We need you to be a mentor,’ ‘Alright!’ I feel like there’s just that tie there, I just don’t know if I can be there every single day all the time the way we have been doing it the past two years.”

As for the day of the show? “I try to sleep in because I know it was going to be a late night,” Jennifer tells us. “Then it’s just about running the show, getting into costumes, running all the cues, going back over it again. There’s so many moving parts to a show…so many things to get exactly right.” And what does Jennifer want fans to say when they walk away from the show? “You just want them to walk away saying: ‘They loved the show, that they had a great time.’ That you got them jumping up and down and singing all the lyrics. That’s your job and when you do that you feel good,” she says.

Ice Age: Continental Drift

Right from the beginning they’re arguing and she doesn’t like him and whatever, but they have some things in common and by the end of it he shows her—which is what I really like about their whole story arc—is that he shows her what a family is, shows her that that is more important than anything, and you know I’m a sucker for that kind of stuff.”
