The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally come! According to the Hollywood Reporter, a sequel to “Finding Nemo” will soon be swimming into theaters.

And no—we’re not talking about “Finding Nemo 3D.” That movie will be out in September, while 2016 is the tentative release date for the sequel.
The movie is set to be directed by Andrew Stanton, who co-directed the original film back in 2003. According to the Hollywood Reporter other names attached to the project include script writer Victoria Strouse and producer Lindsey Collins.

While Strouse appears to have no connection to the original film, fans will be happy to know that Collins holds both a production manager credit on the first “Finding Nemo” as well as a variety of credits on other Disney classics including “Hercules” and “A Bug’s Life.”
Though it has not been confirmed whether or not comedian Ellen Degeneres will be reprising her role as the lovable Dory in the film, we bet she’s pretty happy about the sequel announcement. She joked about the lack there of back in May. Take a look:
