Backstreet Boys Give Details On Their New Album [AUDIO]
Now that Kevin Richardson has returned to his rightful place as a member of the Backstreet Boys, all five members are ready to release a new album. Kevin and A.J. McLean called in to “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” live in London Tuesday morning to talk about being back together again.
Manny on the Streets even popped by for a visit to bring the boys a real American breakfast of croissants, milk and doughnuts. [See photo above]
Kevin, What Was Behind Your Decision To Come Back?
“Basically because I realized how much joy singing and music gives me and I missed it.”
Why Did You Decide To Come to London?
“We actually met a producer that lives here in London. He’s from Sweden originally, his name is Martin Terefe, who’s done a bunch of stuff with Jason Mraz as well as the Train record for “Hey Soul Sister” and we really liked his work and his production.”
“We decided to come back here and post up for a couple of weeks and to write with him and to write with a bunch of writers he uses, and just kind of set up camp and see what comes out of it. So far we’ve probably written about 20 songs in all in the past two weeks so we’re just going, like I said, around the clock.”
A.J., What’s The Dynamic Like Now That Everyone Is Together Again?
“It’s been amazing. You know, it’s kind of funny, after that first week in the studio it was really like nothing had ever stopped. It’s kind of like nothing ever changed and it’s just been an absolute blessing to have Kev back. It’s just been awesome. So now, no pun intended, Backstreet is back.”
This is that first time that all members of the Backstreet Boys have recorded music together since 2005 and soon they will also be hitting the stage. A.J. and Kevin confirmed to Ryan that they will be touring this record once it is complete.
