On His Co-Star Kate Beckinsale:
“Kate Beckinsale is very sweet,” he says. So, was it hard for Colin to fight Kate in the Total Recall? “You do what the script tells you, she basically beat me upside the head. The trickiest part was kissing her actually. Because she’s, of course married to the director of the film [Len Wiseman], so that was slightly uncomfortable.”
Colin had this to say about the kiss: “It was fairly harmless, it was fairly innocent. It was just kind of a morning peck. Well, a little bit more than a morning peck, enough to make me a little bit uncomfortable, but the director moved through it fairly fast.”

On Total Recall:
“It’s a really physical film. For two hours and thirty minutes you are on the run. It was a long shoot 5 months, which is long for a film. It was good, I got in good shape. I went to the gym everyday…I trained, I did a bit of boxing, and just hit the treadmill, and all that. Because I knew the most predominate part of doing the film was the physical aspect. There’s some nice dramatic scenes in there as well, but it really was an exercise in kind of physically telling a story,” Colin explains.

Has Colin Been Watching The Olympics?
“I’ve been kind of catching the recaps in the evenings. I’ve seen probably more gymnastics than anything else and a little bit of the swimming. But not the way I usually would, because I’ve just been working promoting this thing [Total Recall],” he tells us.

Colin continues, “I have really fond memories of watching the Olympics in years gone by, particularly when it gets into the athletics and the track and field. The 400 meters and the 100 meters, and the 200 meters. Lads like Carl Lewis, I grew up watching him. I remember when Ben Johnson won and that whole thing. And then years after that Dwain Chambers and Linford Christie.”
“Total Recall” hits theaters Friday, August 3rd!
