Comedian Kevin Hart stopped by the “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest” studio on Thursday to talk about hosting tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards.

On Hosting The VMAs:
“I got a monologue where I plan on taking some shots at people,” Kevin tells us. “When they first came to me about the hosting job, they said: ‘Kevin, do you want to be hands on, do you want to come in and write yourself?’ As a comedian, I love to write. They allowed me to come up with the ideas for the bumpers, the sketches, the whole thing has a Kevin Hart feel and vibe to it, which is what I’m most happy about.”

Will Chris Brown Will Join Rihanna On Stage Tonight?
“I’ve heard the rumor. I don’t know, honestly, if that one is true,” he says. So, would Kevin like to see these two perform together? “It’s so old, they’re past it, it’s dated. It’s like me talking about Lil Mama when she came on stage in the middle of Jay-Z’s performance or Kanye taking the mic from Taylor Swift. We know it’s been done, it’s been years. So, those are, I think, dated issues to talk about. There’s so much current fresh controversy that I can discuss.”

Is Psy Performing Tonight?
“If you think I’m going to tell you that I got something planned with Psy, you got another thing coming. You got to stop trying to get stuff out of me. Literally, this isn’t about dropping secrets,” Kevin says.

“You got Drake and you got Chris Brown there, there’s animosity there. Here’s the thing about me, I can address it. I know everybody, so me bringing things to light and literally talking about it…I do it in a way to where it’s self deprecating for me, but I involve myself in whatever problem it is. So, you have no choice but to laugh at it. From Rob and Kristen to Prince Harry to Snooki having a baby.”

“I’ve never seen Beyonce with Kim. I know that they probably hang out, I’ve been around Kanye and Kim,” he says. There have been rumors that the relationship between the ladies is frosty…what does Kevin think? “They can’t be, because Jay-Z and Kanye are so close. So, it would be weird.”

Which VMA Attendee Does Kevin Think Will Be His Ex-Wife?
“I don’t have like a serious, serious celebrity crush. Beyonce is the most beautiful woman in the world, but she’s Jay-Z’s girl and then when you go out with them and she’s silly and funny, you lose it and you don’t really think that way anymore. So, for me, it’s more of just being in an environment and laughing at the fact that I am where I am now in my career and that these people are my peers. That’s the shocking thing to me.”
