From hair to clothes to accessories, the ombre trend is taking over. Its next victim? Nails! Be on top of this trend and try this look yourself. Its easier than it looks!

Before you begin, there are a few essential items that you will need. Select two colors of nail polish and a clear coat nail polish.

For the application you will need a sponge, a plastic sheet, toothpicks and Q-tips.

Step 1: Apply the lighter nail color and wait for it to completely dry

Step 2: Place the plastic sheet on a flat surface, and spread a generous amount of both colors next to each other. They should be slightly touching.

Step 3: Using a toothpick, blend the colors together where they are touching. Here you are able to create the exact desired ombre look.

Step 4: Take the sponge and dab it on your polishes.

Step 5: Dab the sponge directly onto the nail.

Step 6: Apply a clear top coat. You may need to do more than one layer if the sponge makes the polish ridged and uneven.

Step 7: Remove all excess polish on the finger with a Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover.

Step 8: Rock your trendy ombre nail color!
