Football Legend Al Michaels Weighs In On The Real Refs Being Back! [AUDIO]
Fans of the National Football League have been in an uproar over several of this season’s games. For once, fans of all teams are uniting against one common cause: the replacement refs. After bickering, bantering, and cruel chants, the ‘real’ refs have finally made a return. NBC‘s Sunday night NFL announcer and legend Al Michaels called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest to talk about how he thinks peace in the NFL will last.

On What Went Wrong:
“What happened this past week helped it move along a little more quickly, because it was the Sunday night game and the Monday night game, two big primetime games. My feeling is basically that they’ll embrace the return of the officials, and then within two weeks they’ll be blowing the hell out of it.”

On The Replacement Refs:
“The people that came in did the best that they could. The difference is is that the games now will be moving along quickly and they’ll have a rhythm to them. The last couple of games on Sunday nights just had no rhythm because the officials were conferring, and just taking a long time to go over replays [...] and just weren’t keeping the game moving along. The other guys will [keep it moving along] because they’re used to it. But you’ll still see a bunch of bad calls, and then people will be up in arms about it. We’ll see how long it is before the crowd starts to chant again.”
