We’ve all been there. 15 months of hectic planning, new diets, and emotional breakdowns all to see your girlfriend walk down the aisle. But think before you agree to be her bridesmaid because most likely, you have one of these five qualities that will make you the worst bridesmaid ever.

1. You’ve fallen in love with the groom, I mean come on ladies.
It’s an all too familiar storyline in Hollywood, boy meets girl, girl falls in love with boy and gets engaged to boy, boy then meets girl’s best friend and falls in love with the bridesmaid. Here’s a tip, wear sunglasses to the wedding; that way no one will catch you looking at him. In this classic clip, Julia Roberts admits her love for her best friend’s fiancé in “My Best Friend’s Wedding.” Worst. Bridesmaid. Ever.

2. You have your own schedule or plans within 8 months of her wedding.
When you’re friend announces to you that she wants you in her wedding party, cancel all of your plans. The big cruise at the end of the summer, hope you got refundable tickets. Your parent’s anniversary party? You can help them celebrate at the next 25-year-mark. In this clip from “27 Dresses,” Katherine Heigl talks about how her sister wants her to do literally everything for her wedding. Say goodbye to your social life, Katherine.

3. You’re sexier than the bride, and she knows it.
While the she is working on losing those last 15 lbs., why don’t you make some extra trips to the McDonald’s drive thru and consider Miley Cyrus‘ new hair cut. The only thing worse than looking better than the bride on her special day is.. wait, we’ll have to get back to you. In the upcoming movie, “Bachelorette” funny girl Rebel Wilson battles with her three hot bridesmaids Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher, and Lizzy Caplan shown below.

4. You’ve surprised the bride on something. Make that anything.
Emotions of the bride need to be kept at a medium level. Luke warm; flat; nuetral; stable. This means no surprises in attire, event planning, event attending, food choices, anything. Remember keep the surprises to a minimum. In this clip of “Bride Wars,” Anne Hathaway ruins Kate Hudson‘s engagement party with her own special news. Let’s just say it didn’t go well.

5. You have any complaints or make any bad decisions, at all… like ever.
Thai food before dress shopping; getting too drunk in the bride’s presence, making anything about yourself, ever. These things were not only scripted in the hilarious movie “Bridesmaids” but they are also things you absolutely want to avoid in real life. The minute you accept the position in a friend’s wedding, you’ve accepted the role of being perfect. All the time. See Kristen Wiig make some bad decisions in the clip below.

Don’t forget, it’s karma: if you’re the worst bridesmaid, chances are she won’t exactly make it pleasant during your own wedding experience. We wish you the best of luck!
