The Olympic swimmer told Matt Lauer she received a giant care package from the singer, which she described as “so awesome.” Before she came home, Missy’s mom took everything out and set all the Bieber swag on the table. Missy couldn’t believe all the t-shirts, CDs, posters, and other mementoes she received from the pop star.

Missy also shared more exciting news that she will soon be a Hollywood actress. That’s right, Missy will make a brief cameo in “The Internship” with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. Ryan did tell Ryan Seacrest during an interview that he plans to move to Los Angeles soon, but it’s not to pursue a career in Hollywood. He will continue his training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, before moving on to designing for his clothing line.

According to TV Line, Ryan will be playing himself on the show, as a guest at a resort where characters Naomi (played by Annalynne McCord) and Max are staying.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan has also been offered several opportunities to do a reality show, and told reporters in London that he would be open to appearing on “Dancing With the Stars.” Unlike the number of Olympians who struggle to find a career once their time in the sports limelight is done, it looks as if Ryan will be just fine.

On The Race:
“I was really hurting with 6 laps to go on that race. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to stay up with the lead group. I wasn’t really thinking about finishing, I was just thinking about hanging on at that point, but the crowd here was so amazing, the stadium, the energy that was in there was unlike anything I’ve ever seen…just them going crazy for Mo [Farah]. I tried to kind of channel that and think that they were cheering for me and with 2 laps to go I just got a huge surge of energy and kind of a jolt. At that point I was like: ‘Okay, I can do this.’ And you just need to get back to focusing on what you need to do, holding your form, and doing the little things. I just tried to stay up there and then with 200 meters to go I really tried to make a move and was able to kick home in to silver.” Galen’s post race celebration? “We had big rib-eye steaks as soon as I got done and french fries. We definitely got some belated celebrating in.”

During the race Galen rolled up next to Great Britain’s Mo Farah and was communicating with him. So, what was he saying? “We had talked a little beforehand about getting to the front with 800 meters to go and then trying to make a really hard push with somewhere between 600 and 400 meters to go in the race. I knew that was going to be the best position for myself…to give myself a shot to do something really special again. So, I tried to just get up there with him. You never know what can happen. Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out I as would have liked, but it just goes to show you how hard a double is and what an amazing feat Mo accomplished.”

On Mo Farah:
“It’s always nice to have a familiar face when you’re in a race and we just do so much together between training and the just hanging out. We are at training camp for maybe 5 or 6 months out of the year. We spend a lot of time together. It’s always great having a teammate in there, we try to work together as much as we can to help each other out.”

What’s Next For Galen?
“We still got a few more races this summer. I’m probably going to run in Birmingham, and then run a really fast 5K in Zurich in about 2 or 3 weeks time. So, we’re still not going crazy yet, but right now everything is still kind of focused on that and really finishing the season with a bang. After that I am just looking forward to hanging out with my friends, my wife especially, just being at home and enjoying some and enjoying some Duck football, and I went to the University of Oregon…so I’m a huge Oregon fan, they got a great team this year,” Galen tells us.

American fans were heartbroken when team favorite Jordyn Wieber didn’t qualify for the individual all-around competition (she finished fourth). Unfortunately for the talented gymnast, a possible stress fracture in her leg might be the reason for a continued heartbreak. In her final Olympic floor routine, she finished seventh out of eight, stepping out of bounds which knocked her score down to 14.5. A disappointing finish for the young Olympian, and we hope it doesn’t break her spirit.

One German diver has gained Internet fame…but not for his achievements. In the men’s 3-meter springboard diving preliminaries, Stephan Feck lost grip of his leg during his forward 3 1/2 somersault and landed in a backwards belly flop. Receiving zeros from the judges, he failed to qualify and even worse, finished in last place with a score 167.65 points behind the second-to-last diver.

A scandal involving the fairness of the Games broke down South Korea fencer Shin A-lam. Competing for a spot in the final for the women’s épée, Shin was tied in a 5-5 score with opponent Britta Heidemann (Germany) when the clock was reset from zero to one second. Due to the rule where one fencer is awarded “priority,” when a contest goes into sudden death, Shin would have had a chance. But after judges deliberation, action resumed and Britta won. Shin was left sobbing on the piste in front of the entire stadium.

Athletes can be very hard on themselves, and Chinese weightlifter Wu Jingbiao took his second-place winning as a “failure.” Bitterly crying on camera, he apologized: “I shamed my country, my team and all of those who cared for me. I’m sorry!” We think Wu should be proud to have placed and travel back home with the silver!

The London 2012 closing ceremonies will be remembered for their epic rock concert format, with one mesmerizing musical performance after another. And it’s obvious that the audience’s spirits were also high. The crowd’s involvement in the show was much greater than during the opening ceremony.

“I was just pleased to be there. Because you know, it’s kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity to see somebody who has, I don’t know, I think he finished with 22 medals? That’s ridiculous. And so, to have the opportunity to be able to be there and to witness that and see his last time in the pool, it’s kind of like you’re paying your respects to one of the greatest athletes that we’ve ever seen.”
