They actually love each other so much and believe in each other,” Adam says. “I love them both and I wish them both well.”

“It was one of the most embarrassing scenes I’ve ever shot in my entire life and I made a family comedy with Vin Diesel so that’s saying a lot. Justin Theroux, the writer, had written in the script, ‘they perform a tongue kiss that is the tongueiest kiss ever tongue kissed in film history.’ And then they did. It looked a little bit more like animals cleaning each other.”

On Meeting Tom Cruise At A Birthday Party:
“’I met him [Tom] at Sadie Sandler’s, Adam Sandler’s daughter’s first birthday party. We were drawing, and he approached me and he said ‘I’m Tom Cruise.’ My head almost blew up because I was so scared. I was sitting on a six inch high baby chair and he pulled up this little baby chair next to mine and my knees are basically on my chest!”

On Hearing Tom Sing For The First Time:
“We decided it was time to see if the singing was going to work because otherwise I was gonna go elsewhere and we would figure out something else to do and he did his singing lessons with Axel Rose’s old vocal coach, and I just heard this massive voice coming out of him, just doing scales and exercises and I thought, ‘Omigod, holy hell this is going to work!’ We high fived and I was like a fifteen year old girl jumping around.”

What Should We Ask Tom On Monday?
Adam wants Ryan to asked Tom what it was like shooting, “I Don’t Want to know What Love Is,” because that’s a scene where he had to really, really go for it because that’s a scene where he’s actually singing with great sincerity about his longing for love while he’s having sex with Malin Akerman on an air hockey table.”

It was recently announced that Adam will be directing a movie version of “The Nutcracker,” but don’t expect to see the ballet up on the big screen. “It’s kind of like an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Gothic retelling of “The Nutcracker” story and it’s not the ballet,” Adam explains. “We are going back to the original story of it.”

Adam’s new movie “Rock of Ages” stars Russell Brand and Tom Cruise and features a lot of great, awesome, fun 80s music, and also includes Tom on a stripper pole. Adam tells us that Tom has seen the movie, “He was grinning ear to ear. He just said ‘I’ve never seen a movie like this before.’” The movie doesn’t come out until next year, but you can get a sneak peek…the trailer will be shown before the new “Sherlock Holmes” movie on December 16th!

This Sunday night Adam will be directing a charity event that is near and dear to him, Trevor Live. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention, and suicide prevention services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning youth [LGBTQ]. “Because forty percent more kids are killing themselves from bullying,” Adam tells us.

The event will feature performances by Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah, Julianne Hough, JC Chasez, Fergie and many more. “We have a line up that is almost mind blowing. It’s like the Grammys, it’s crazy.” Adam says. “It’s just going to be an extraordinary night.” The Trevor Hero Award Honoree is Lady Gaga and Adam tells us, “I am keeping the piano and microphone hot in case The Lady Gaga would like to perform.”

Adam also confirmed that he will be back on “So You Think You Can Dance” this summer to do some episodes.

Adam Shankman, director of the big-screen adaptation of Tony-nominated Broadway musical “Rock of Ages,” called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” during a scene while Tom Cruise, who plays Stacee Jaxx, a womanizing rocker, dangles from a pole singing “Rock Me Like A Hurricane.” Adam confided that leading the All-Star cast of Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin,, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Mary J. Blige. is, “completely crazy…with all the dancing, and the singing. I just sit back and go ‘what am I making!?’

Tom says filming the movie is “fun. I’ve never done a musical, and I’m having a blast. Learning a lot. I’ve always loved music. Theres nothing like trying to do something yourself to give you an even greater appreciation for what this art form is. Its fantastic. I love this character, and working with Adam and the cast, and everyone there is just outstanding across the board.”

Tom details the songs that he will be singing in the film due out sometime next year saying, “I sing “Pour Some Sugar” [by Def Leppard]. Its outrageous. I sing “Dead or Alive” [by Jon Bon Jovi]. Oh god, I sing “Rock Me Like A Hurricane [by Scorpions].”

Tom explains his seemingly eclectic body of work saying, “I like trying different things in different genres, and I love movies so this a great opportunity. I remember saying to Adam a couple of years ago after I saw “Hairspray” and I said, ‘Okay man, wheres our musical?’ Then he came to me with this, and I got very excited by it?”

But is Tom tempted with the life of a musical artist? “Right now I’m all I’m thinking about is getting through this scene. I’ve already been in the recording studio, and we’ve got some great people across the board. Working with people like Adam Anders, who is producing music for Glee, and he’s just incredible. So is Nia Michaels. Adam has assembled an incredible team.”

Tom outlined the opportunity for fans to participate in a pivotal concert scene in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area as a glam rocking extra to fill the arena for a once-in-a-lifetime show from the all-star cast. Participants are encouraged to bring friends to the shoot, which will feature such classic songs as Bon Jovi‘s “Dead or Alive” and Journey‘s “Don’t Stop Believin’. [READ MORE] ” Tom encourages saying, “Its going to be alot of fun. They are going to be able to see these characters, the music, and performing it. Its a concert scene that we shoot on Monday. Its “Dead or Alive” and it goes into where Stacee Jaxx is performing in a stadium. So theres going to be a big show there. Then its another song that we have “Don’t Stop Believing” that the whole cast will be there with Diego and Julianne!”

Take a peek at the first look of Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand in “Rock Of Ages” above! The upcoming flick’s director Adam Shankman offered fans the photo via his Twitter Tuesday.

The nearly unrecognizable Alec will be playing Dennis, owner of ‘The Bourbon Room’, a bar that is trying to be saved and Russell’s character Lonnie.

Alongside the above rockers, the “Rock Of Ages” cast stars Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, Julianne Hough as Sherrie Christian and newbie Diego Boneta as the film’s lead character Drew Bowie. The cast is rounded out by Catherine Zeta-Jones who plays the villain (a part not in the original musical), Mary J. Blige as Justice Charlier, and Bryan Cranston.

The 1987 based flick is set to hit theaters June 1st, 2012.

Choreographer, Adam Shankman, called Ryan this morning to talk about his upcoming movie, “Rock of Ages.”

Formerly a broadway musical, “Rock of Ages” is about two rock-n-roll teenagers who fall in love as they live their life immersed in the notorious ‘rock scene.’ The musical includes hits from rock legends such as Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Poison, and many more!

So what does Shankman have to do with “Rock of Ages?” Shankman is taking this rock-inspired musical and bringing it to the big screen! In fact, the movie “Rock of Ages” is capturing some of Hollywood’s biggest names including Tom Cruz, Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, and even Mary J. Blige!

But there’s one name missing in this star-studded cast, and that name can be yours! The spot for Drew Boley, the lead male voice in the movie, is open and Shankman is offering an opening casting to the public.

Shankman is looking for “that new person that’s totally unencumbered by any other jobs and any other press baggage and somebody that’s incredibly fresh.” He goes on to say “I need a young, great looking guy with a huge voice that has a sense of humor, sensitivity, and courage.”

Shankman, who helmed the “Step Up” series of films and “Hairspray,” explained his permanent decision to get inked stemmed from his thought that  tatts “looked cool, and were kind of sexy, and as of late I’ve needed to feel that way more.”

And, apparently the tatt worked! As not only did girls take notice the evening of their dinner, but after Shankman got the tattoo, he revealed he himself wanted to take another look–naked in the mirror! Shankman confided he took a Lunesta to sleep the night he got the tattoo and  woke to find he had slept walked and “taken a bunch of pictures in the bathroom naked” on his iPhone!
