Billboard Music Awards: Red Carpet Fashion, Winners, and Videos

Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and so many more stars hit the red carpet in high style for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday.

In addition to the awards, there were tons of amazing performances, including, Pitbull and Christina Aguilera on their hit “Feel This Moment,” Pitbull again with Jennifer Lopez for her new song “Live It Up,” Will.i.am and Justin Bieber for “#ThatPower,” as well as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez, The Band Perry, and Miguel.

The list of presenters was just as impressive. Handing out awards were PSY, Ke$ha, Shania Twain, and Miley Cyrus.

Chris Brown Samples Unreleased Aaliyah Song in ‘They Don’t Know’

Aaliyah is gone, but she is certainly not forgotten.

Less than a year after Drake sampled her vocals for his song “Enough Said,” Chris Brown is now doing the same on “They Don’t Know” from his upcoming X album.

Breezy announced on Tuesday that the track will feature previously unreleased material from Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash in August 2001 at the age of 22.

Over the weekend, Chris filmed the music video for “They Don’t Know” in Compton, California.

“I shot it in the ‘hood,” he explained at a press conference for the BET Awards. “I went to 60th Street and Cedar Block. [I'm] bringing both worlds together and trying to uplift the poverty side of the community and show them where I’m from. I’m from Virginia, but everybody comes from a broken home or being broke. I remember when I was.”

X will be released on July 16.

Chris appeared on the Australian radio show The Kyle and Jackie Show on Sunday and revealed that the on-again, off-again couple are over once again, though he says he still has feelings for her. “I’m always gonna love that person. I can’t be focused on wife-ing someone that young,” the 24-year-old singer explained. “I need to be the best Chris Brown I can be,” he added.

Though the two were seen snuggled up at the Grammy Awards earlier this year looking happier than ever, Chris explained why Rihanna — who is currently on her Diamonds tour — wasn’t a part of his birthday festivities. “I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thang. She on the road. It’s always gonna be love. I’m a grown man, just gotta fast forward.”

After his quotes came out though, Chris’ positive attitude changed. On Sunday night, he went on a Twitter tirade against fans who are unhappy he and Rihanna split again. “I’m over trying to please y’a'll I’m catching any FADES,” he reportedly tweeted … but then quickly deleted. “On god! I’m wit all the bulls— … I’m personally so f—ing tired of people it’s sick! Who made ya’ll god!!!! Society is f—ing overrated and a bunch of followers.”

Chris Brown announced on Twitter on Monday that his sixth album, X, will be released on July 16.

Along with that revelation, the “Fine China” singer also dropped the audio for a track he said will not be on that album, called “I Can’t Win.”

The song is a mid-tempo and, of course, sounds like it’s about Rihanna. “Tell me what did I do to make you hate me so much,” Chris croons as the first line.

Chris Brown Is “Eternally Grateful” Rihanna Forgave Him

Chris recently spoke with Ryan about the new album. “The direction I wanted to go with in this album was kind of like the first album… locked into one studio trying to make a great project. What usually happens with an album is you make songs, make songs, make songs… but after the first week we started we had great songs… I’m trying to put 10 videos out before the album drops.”

Earlier today brown appeared on the Today Show and spoke with Matt Lauer about new music, and what happened with Rihanna: “I think it’s just me proving myself once again and also me just being a man, and knowing what I did wrong and never doing it again. As for as me and her concerned, she knows my heart and I know her heart. I’m not really focused on the negative, everything about is positive for me. I did my 52 weeks of counseling and learned it was absolutely wrong.”

Chris Brown Is “Eternally Grateful” Rihanna Forgave Him

Chris Brown stopped by “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” for the first time, sitting down with Ryan and Ellen K, and opened up on everything from whether he thought Rihanna would forgive him, what really went down with the valet the other day, and even what he’s got in store with Jennifer Lopez.

On Jennifer Lopez:
After J.Lo tweeted a pic of herself in the studio with Chris, the 23-year-old singer revealed, “We actually are collaborating.” Adding, “I’m trying to get her on my album, I have a couple songs that would be incredible for her to feature on. But as for now, I’m just in the studio writing for her album and collaborating on new stuff and trying to give her some party music and fun stuff.”

And although Chris may be looking ahead with new music, he seemingly can’t escape the incidents of his past. And while many respect the singer and dancer for his undeniable talent, many may still be unable to forgive his past indiscretions towards Rihanna.

On winning back fans:
When asked how he attempts to win back those fans, Chris admits: ”People are entitled to their opinions. I can’t go around blaming. It’s all about my responsibility and me growing up as a man. So I think now that I’m becoming older, and trying to mature in this life under the public eye at all times, I have to focus on doing the right thing and being more of a humble individual.”

Adding, the greatest lesson he learned during that period in his life was, “that you can lose it all.” “And I’m not just saying fame or stardom because that’s not what it’s about. I’m talking about dignity [and] integrity. You know, you lose yourself in a way. So that process of me having to deal with any trials and tribulations I went through at that time, it was a learning step for me. Everything was learning, and I learned from certain mistakes, and I’m getting better as the days come.”

On what’s to blame:
So does Chris think his youth was to blame? “I could put that on my age but that would just be making an excuse. I think for me that at age 18, 19 I was capable of writing and producing songs, so I’m also capable of making the right choices. So I think it’s about a learning process now. Being at that young age I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded. Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands.”

On Rihanna:
Chris also shared he “didn’t know” whether Rihanna was going to forgive him. Revealing, “I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident and that time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she has and she’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful.” Adding, the two of them are in a better place now. “It’s still like we’re kids. I try not to be too grown and be like, ‘Lets have candlelight dinner every night.’ I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine.”

On the recent valet incident:
Chris’ temper was also tested recently with a valet while outside a charity event, in which Chris was caught on tape getting defensive over an alleged ten dollar parking fee.

Chris explained there’s more to the story. “Okay so I can elaborate on the situation. By all means, I’m a great tipper. Ten dollars is not a problem…[it] was five dollar parking at the place…but before we went in, I gave the man $100 dollars. We had two cars. It’s five dollar parking. Okay, do the math. So when we came out he was like, ‘You know what? We need $20 for each car.’ And I said, ‘Sir, I just gave you $100.’ So he was like, ‘No, no we need $10.’ So he was just going around trying to see if he could get more money and I was like, ‘no,’ so by that time it was a situation.”

However, Chris added, he realizes next time he should probably avoid the confrontation altogether. Laughing, “I’ve got to just shut up and be like, ‘Security go get the keys! I’ll be by the car.’”

On Instagram & Twitter:
“Both [are a blessing and a curse]…for me now I’m not as hands on as I used to be. I totally deleted my Instagram and I get on Twitter every now and then to touch base with my fans because I love my fans. But sometimes when you’re a young kid and you have impulsive techniques you kind of get like, ‘Arghhh! I can’t stand you’. People love [Twitter wars], they eat it up, so I’d rather not feed them that.”

For the past couple of months ‘BadGalRiRi‘ has been instagramming pics of the two love birds together. However, considering their tumultuous history, they’ve raised a lot of questions and eye brows. Well, all questions have been laid to rest in her recent interview. Rihanna told “RollingStone”:

“You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore… We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

In terms of why the two got back together after such a traumatic event as his assault, back in 2009, she says:

“I decided it was more important for me to be happy…I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

She also explains that she won’t put up with any of Chris’s past behavior:

“That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

Chris Brown Talks About Feuds, Twitter, & His Love Life

Apparently, the hip-hop singer is feeling persecuted, much like the Biblical figure, in the wake of the rumored Brown/Ocean brawl. Tuesday Brown instagrammed picture, with the caption, “Painting the way I feel today. Focus on what matters!”

Meanwhile, Frank Ocean has reportedly expressed interest in pressing charges over the fight that took place Sunday, January 27^th. No charges have been filed yet. If Ocean decides to follow through, it’ll mean bad news for Brown, who’s still on probation for his 2009 assault of Rihanna. TMZ reports that Brown wants to let the police know that he did not start the fight. They also report that after viewing the surveillance tape both musicians are clear – neither one actually threw a punch.
