Masterfully choreographed, “Prometheus” proves to be another prized piece of what fans call, “Ridley Scott Couture.” The film takes place in 2093 including scenery from inside the Prometheus space vessel, different planets, and the parasitic aliens.

The imaginative visual effects supervisor Richard Stammers led a group of 10 vendors to create over 1,400 visual effects shots for the film. Stammers had the technical talent but insists that the vision held true to Ridley. “We started with sketches and stories that Ridley drew. He obviously has a fantastic vision for images,” said Stammers.

Many critics agree that Ridley Scott likes to explore the world he has built which added to the texture of the storyline.

Is there a God, is there not a God? Faith and science are brought together in a story that tests humanity’s innate desire for knowledge. It teaches the audience that knowledge is power, but warns that if mankind gets too close to the answers, there will be devastating consequences.

Leaving the theatre with a vivid image and goosebumps from the unnerving action and  beautiful scenery, “Prometheus” proves that internal torture, the unknown, and uncontrollable forceful adaptation remain as a nightmare long after the credits roll.

“One day the webbing on the leg of Charlize’s space suit came apart and for a quick fix a crew member ran super glue along the seam without realizing he actually glued the suit to her skin. She was stuck wearing it for the next 3 weeks,” Ridley explains.

Scott directed and produced the film, and brought on a superstar cast including Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Idris Elba. The film takes us into the future and across the galaxy where a team of archaeologists, scientists and an android are in search of alien life forms. They travel on the vessel “Prometheus” to a distant moon and what happens next, well, you’re just going to have to wait and see. “It’s makeup, it’s six hours of makeup, and I went to work at 2 a.m., which is kind of what you do every day so I. And then as it’s transforming, that was CGI.”

“You know, I think there was a feeling that they would both be summer films, but I really didn’t think they would be a week apart from each other cause summer is a few months, you know, so I shoot them somewhat back to back. I started with, ironically Prometheus, and then went in to Snow White.”

Directed by king of sci-fi, Ridley Scott, this film is a prequel to 1979 classic science fiction horror masterpiece, “Alien.” He realized that there was something in his first science fiction film that “no one ever asked questions about.” He made the unanswered questions come to light as the centerpiece of the “Prometheus” plot.

But fans will not feel as though they are watching the same movie. He said that “the DNA” of “Alien” is in the film, but “everything else is original.”

Scott says that in the last few scenes of this 124 minute flick, “you’ll understand what we’re talking about.”

The film follows an archeologist couple and crew as they board vessel Prometheus to travel to the distant moon LV-223. They find a map of otherwise unconnected ancient cultures and interpret it as evidence of humanity’s forerunners. The mission is to answer the what created mankind, and instead, the group of explorers find a horrific secret that will threaten the future of humanity.

Actress Charlize Theron plays Meredith Vickers, a company executive for the Weyland space company funding the mission, and told SPACE.com,”I want to work with filmmakers who inspire me, and (Ridley) is one of those filmmakers. I like his films, I like what he does, and I feel so lucky to be at a place in my career that I can hold out to work with people like that.”

The star-studded cast Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, and Michael Fassbender lit up the red carpet at the film’s premiere in London June 1.

The context for “Prometheus” was originally conceived in early 2000s but became sidelined in 2003 when the “Alien vs. Predator” franchise came out. Scott brought on Jon Spaihts to write the script for the prequel in 2009, and brought on Damn Lindelhof to help rewrite and create a separate story based off of the “Alien” universe.

Fans have been waiting three years since the first script began and will get to experience the intensity in U.S. theaters June 8.

Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett Johansson have all come together for the first installment of the Marvel comic that will come to life on the big screen. This will be one action-packed movie with incredible actors all in one! (May 4, 2012)
 

3. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

It has been quite some time since the final chapter of “The Lord of the Rings” hit screens, but the prequel to the saga is giving us something to cheer about for 2012. “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” follows Bilbo Baggins on his journey to the Lonely Mountain accompanied by a group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure taken from them by the dragon Smaug. This is the first of the two-part epic fantasy film. (December 14, 2012)
 

4. Prometheus

“Prometheus” the latest sci-fi project from director Ridley Scott started out as a new “Alien” film (which Scott directed in 1979), but morphed into a film taking place in the same universe as “Alien.” A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. The film stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Patrick Wilson. (June 8, 2012)

5. The Amazing Spider-Man

Based on the Marvel comic book about an unsuspecting boy who, after being bitten by a mysterious radioactive spider, gains exceptional superhero powers, allowing him to score the girl of his dreams as well as save a city in peril. Peter Parker is played by Andrew Garfield of “The Social Network.” Some Spidey-fans might notice slight differences in this version of the comic book favorite. The tone of “The Amazing Spiderman” is much darker than Tobey Maguire’s “Spider-Man.” (July 3, 2012)
 

6. The Hunger Games

“Harry Potter” and “The Twilight Saga” were two huge book-to-movie franchises and following in their footsteps is the first installment of the popular young adult trilogy, “The Hunger Games.” The science fiction action drama is set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister’s place for the latest match. 7. Men In Black 3

Agent J and Agent K are back in action and are going back in time in “Men In Black 3.” When the world is threatened by an evil alien, Agent J (Will Smith) travels back in time to 1969, where he teams up with the younger Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) to stop an evil villain from destroying the world in the future. The sci-fi action comedy will also expose several famous names and faces as being aliens in disguise, like in the previous films, only this time they will all be celebrities from the 1960s. 8. Brave

“Brave” is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands and focuses on a young princess who defies a sacred custom of the land, inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom, and then makes an ill-fated wish in order to set things right. This film will mark a few firsts for Pixar. It is their first movie to feature a female lead character. Scottish actress Kelly MacDonald voices Merida, the tomboyish princess. This will also be their first fairy-tale film and their first film co-directed by a woman. (June 22, 2012)
 

9. Snow White & The Huntsman

“Snow White & The Huntsman” puts a dark spin on the childhood classic story of “Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs.” In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen. With Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, and the beautiful Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, this story with its dark and twisted plot will enchant audiences worldwide. 10. The Raven

“The Raven” is a fictionalized account of the last days of Edgar Allan Poe‘s life, the thriller stars John Cusack in the role of Poe, who joins forces with a young detective, Luke Evans, to hunt down a mad serial killer who’s using Poe’s own works as the basis in a string of brutal murders. In the trailer it looks like we get a glimpse of “The Pit and the Pendulum,” a live burial straight from “The Cask of the Amontillado,” and a masquerade, possibly out of “The Masque of the Red Death.” (March 9, 2012)
