“When I had the eyeliner on, and the painted nails. She was a little taken aback by that. She was like, ‘What is happening to my daddy?’ She goes to Kate’s set and there’s the hair and the makeup and it’s a very nice set. Then Suri comes to my sets and she’s got to wear a hard helmet and there’s explosions going off and Dad’s all bloody and bruised!”

“He was so pumped to have been there! He’s very dedicated [to DJ'ing]. He’s just so focused on his music right now, and it’s great to see. He works very hard when he wants to do something, he’s very dedicated to it. Whatever it is.”

Tom laughs, “Can you imagine? You know what I might! Maybe we’ll work it out. I’ll suggest it to Tony [Scott] and Jerry [Bruckheimer].”

On Upcoming Projects:
“As I’m working on one film I’ll have the next one that I’m already prepping. I was producing ‘Mission,’ and acting, we were shooting, while I was prepping ‘Rock of Ages.’ And I was prepping ‘Oblivion’ since ‘Mission Impossible,’ that’s the one I’m shooting now, and during ‘Rock of Ages’ I was prepping ‘Jack Reacher,’ the film that’s coming out at Christmas. And I have about 4 other films that will come after the next film that I shoot when I finish ‘Oblivion.’”

On Training For Roles:
“For my whole life it’s been training, just being on set, you have to be fit. Because at the end of the day you have to be just as fresh at the beginning of the day. So, there is just the baseline fitness, and then there’s the specific training for that particular movie that sometimes takes, for ‘The Last Samurai’ I trained for a year 5 hours a day to be able to move the sword in that way. This film you saw what we were doing, the dancing, the singing, and that was a new world for me. It was like I’ve trained for stunts for my other films.”

On His Passion For Making Movies:
Tom recalls: “It’s something that I remember being 4-years old just dreaming of doing that and as a kid I used to write skits for my family to try to make them laugh and create different characters. So, that is the passion that I have, I want to entertain an audience. I just love what I do, I love making movies. It’s something that I’ve just never taken for granted and every film for me I want to immerse myself in it. I don’t become the character, but I create the character. It’s fun learning about different people and what they do in their worlds. It’s a real gift to be able to make movies and do that.”

On Working With Julianne Hough:
“She’s very talented, and she’s a hard worker. She’s someone that wants to learn and wants to grow. You look at what she’s accomplished with her life, and I really admire her.”

On Creating His “Rock of Ages’ Character Stacee Jaxx
“I just kind of went around and picked a bunch of different things, then we had to find out what worked for this character. We were just playing around with what is the Stacee Jaxx walk, and what is the frame, and I just kept moving. I’m not a dancer…I had a lot of help and a lot of training. The guns that go down below the belt, the pistols, dragon tattoos and all that stuff. It’s just kind of what works, you just kind of instinctually find how it evolves and what works for the character. I wanted to play it real, but also we needed the comedy, because he’s got to be outrageous, yet I wanted to play it totally straight and have these different moments that evolve.”

How Did Tom Prepare For The Role?
“There a certain trends with the headband and different things, where you go that’s the 80s style, but in preparing for it I looked at the books that Adam Shankman gave me from the 80s. I worked with Justin Theroux and I also called Cameron Crowe. I just wanted to kind of look at the history of rock and roll and I read the Led Zeppelin biographies, the Motley Crues of that time, the books on rock and roll, the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards. I was just trying to immerse myself in the rock and roll world, and just kind of see what their lives are like.”

“It was one of the most embarrassing scenes I’ve ever shot in my entire life and I made a family comedy with Vin Diesel so that’s saying a lot. Justin Theroux, the writer, had written in the script, ‘they perform a tongue kiss that is the tongueiest kiss ever tongue kissed in film history.’ And then they did. It looked a little bit more like animals cleaning each other.”

On Meeting Tom Cruise At A Birthday Party:
“’I met him [Tom] at Sadie Sandler’s, Adam Sandler’s daughter’s first birthday party. We were drawing, and he approached me and he said ‘I’m Tom Cruise.’ My head almost blew up because I was so scared. I was sitting on a six inch high baby chair and he pulled up this little baby chair next to mine and my knees are basically on my chest!”

On Hearing Tom Sing For The First Time:
“We decided it was time to see if the singing was going to work because otherwise I was gonna go elsewhere and we would figure out something else to do and he did his singing lessons with Axel Rose’s old vocal coach, and I just heard this massive voice coming out of him, just doing scales and exercises and I thought, ‘Omigod, holy hell this is going to work!’ We high fived and I was like a fifteen year old girl jumping around.”

What Should We Ask Tom On Monday?
Adam wants Ryan to asked Tom what it was like shooting, “I Don’t Want to know What Love Is,” because that’s a scene where he had to really, really go for it because that’s a scene where he’s actually singing with great sincerity about his longing for love while he’s having sex with Malin Akerman on an air hockey table.”

So, did all this time rocking out help prepare her for her duet with Tom Cruise in “Rock of Ages”? Malin tells us: “Not really, this is a little bit different because we recorded the song and then it was on playback while we were shooting on set. When you’re on a stage singing rock and roll you can just scream the notes that you can’t hit.” Being a rock singer is the only occupation where you’re encouraged to scream your way through the hardest parts of your job!

The story is about a small town girl named Sherrie (Julianne Hough) and a city boy named Drew (Diego Boneta) who embark on the journey of pursuing their dreams of Rock and Roll, while falling in love. Drew wants to be just like his idol Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise), the washed out rock star who used to rule the ’80s.

And why wouldn’t he? Tom Cruise replaces Bon Jovi in the trailer with a cover of “Wanted Dead or Alive,” in his gorgeous locks and bare chest. We certainly aren’t complaining!

So, dust off your greasy wigs and prepare yourself for some nostalgia as you travel back to the greatest music from the ’80s: Journey, Poison and Def Leppard, amongst many more.

Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige, Malin Akerman, Bryan Cranston, Paul Giamatti, Will Forte and Kevin Nash also star in this summer blockbuster, which is scheduled to release on June 15^th.

With an all-star cast and some of the best music of the 80′s, the film adaptation of “Rock Of Ages” is set to be one of the biggest films of 2012, and now director Adam Shankman is inviting YOU to become a part of the head banging fun.

Shankman is shooting a pivotal concert scene in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area and looking for hundreds of glam rocking extras to fill the arena for a once-in-a-lifetime show from Tom Cruise who plays glam rocker Stacee Jaxx. Participants are encouraged to bring friends to the shoot, which will feature such classic songs as Bon Jovi‘s “Dead or Alive” and Journey‘s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Take a peek at the first look of Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand in “Rock Of Ages” above! The upcoming flick’s director Adam Shankman offered fans the photo via his Twitter Tuesday.

The nearly unrecognizable Alec will be playing Dennis, owner of ‘The Bourbon Room’, a bar that is trying to be saved and Russell’s character Lonnie.

Alongside the above rockers, the “Rock Of Ages” cast stars Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, Julianne Hough as Sherrie Christian and newbie Diego Boneta as the film’s lead character Drew Bowie. The cast is rounded out by Catherine Zeta-Jones who plays the villain (a part not in the original musical), Mary J. Blige as Justice Charlier, and Bryan Cranston.

The 1987 based flick is set to hit theaters June 1st, 2012.

Choreographer, Adam Shankman, called Ryan this morning to talk about his upcoming movie, “Rock of Ages.”

Formerly a broadway musical, “Rock of Ages” is about two rock-n-roll teenagers who fall in love as they live their life immersed in the notorious ‘rock scene.’ The musical includes hits from rock legends such as Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Poison, and many more!

So what does Shankman have to do with “Rock of Ages?” Shankman is taking this rock-inspired musical and bringing it to the big screen! In fact, the movie “Rock of Ages” is capturing some of Hollywood’s biggest names including Tom Cruz, Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, and even Mary J. Blige!

But there’s one name missing in this star-studded cast, and that name can be yours! The spot for Drew Boley, the lead male voice in the movie, is open and Shankman is offering an opening casting to the public.

Shankman is looking for “that new person that’s totally unencumbered by any other jobs and any other press baggage and somebody that’s incredibly fresh.” He goes on to say “I need a young, great looking guy with a huge voice that has a sense of humor, sensitivity, and courage.”
