The Lifestyle of Suri Cruise Costs a Pretty Penny

The ”Oblivion” actor phoned in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Wednesday morning to talk about his latest movie and revealed he’s already done all of the birthday planning for his little girl.

With Suri turning 7-years-old tomorrow, Tom revealed he’s finished his shopping and prepping. “Done already. All done. I take care of the kids early. You’ll know, you have to plan ahead for these things. It’s all done and all celebrated.”

So does Tom, who currently looks like he’s been aging backwards, indulge in a cupcake or two? “Oh yeah,” he admitted. “I’ll eat cake, cupcakes. I eat all that stuff.”

On top of racking up points for father of the year, Tom’s been busy taking on his latest epic film. He explains that “Oblivion” is a “kind of story I haven’t made since ‘Minority Report’ where you have this drama, thriller, sci-fi but sci-fi today is like the old westerns where at that time where their at the height of westerns in cinema they were able to take audiences to places they’ve never seen and now today with sci-fi we can create this cool world with technology but also give them a very human story within that.”

Reports have been surfacing everywhere from the Huffington Post to CBS News that Holmes is on the run from the Church of Scientology because a group of “sinister” men from the church have been stalking her and Suri Cruise outside of their home.

According to E! News, these allegations have been denied by the church whose attorney Gary Sote sent out a statement saying, “There is no truth whatsoever to the TMZ.com report (or any other report) that the Church of Scientology has sent anyone to follow or surveil Katie Holmes.”

However, Baker reports that Holmes’ fear of the church may have played a role in why she filed for divorce in New York instead of California. ”It turns out that Katie became worried about Tom’s involvement in the Church of Scientology, reportedly fearing that her daughter might be taken away from her,” said Baker, “so Katie filed for divorce in New York rather than California because I’m told she’s more likely to get full custody in New York.”

“As I’m working on one film I’ll have the next one that I’m already prepping. I was producing ‘Mission,’ and acting, we were shooting, while I was prepping ‘Rock of Ages.’ And I was prepping ‘Oblivion’ since ‘Mission Impossible,’ that’s the one I’m shooting now, and during ‘Rock of Ages’ I was prepping ‘Jack Reacher,’ the film that’s coming out at Christmas. And I have about 4 other films that will come after the next film that I shoot when I finish ‘Oblivion.’”

On Training For Roles:
“For my whole life it’s been training, just being on set, you have to be fit. Because at the end of the day you have to be just as fresh at the beginning of the day. So, there is just the baseline fitness, and then there’s the specific training for that particular movie that sometimes takes, for ‘The Last Samurai’ I trained for a year 5 hours a day to be able to move the sword in that way. This film you saw what we were doing, the dancing, the singing, and that was a new world for me. It was like I’ve trained for stunts for my other films.”

On His Passion For Making Movies:
Tom recalls: “It’s something that I remember being 4-years old just dreaming of doing that and as a kid I used to write skits for my family to try to make them laugh and create different characters. It’s something that I’ve just never taken for granted and every film for me I want to immerse myself in it. I don’t become the character, but I create the character. It’s fun learning about different people and what they do in their worlds. It’s a real gift to be able to make movies and do that.”

On Working With Julianne Hough:
“She’s very talented, and she’s a hard worker. She’s someone that wants to learn and wants to grow. You look at what she’s accomplished with her life, and I really admire her.”

On Creating His “Rock of Ages’ Character Stacee Jaxx
“I just kind of went around and picked a bunch of different things, then we had to find out what worked for this character. We were just playing around with what is the Stacee Jaxx walk, and what is the frame, and I just kept moving. I’m not a dancer…I had a lot of help and a lot of training. The guns that go down below the belt, the pistols, dragon tattoos and all that stuff. It’s just kind of what works, you just kind of instinctually find how it evolves and what works for the character. I wanted to play it real, but also we needed the comedy, because he’s got to be outrageous, yet I wanted to play it totally straight and have these different moments that evolve.”

How Did Tom Prepare For The Role?
“There a certain trends with the headband and different things, where you go that’s the 80s style, but in preparing for it I looked at the books that Adam Shankman gave me from the 80s. I worked with Justin Theroux and I also called Cameron Crowe. I just wanted to kind of look at the history of rock and roll and I read the Led Zeppelin biographies, the Motley Crues of that time, the books on rock and roll, the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards. I was just trying to immerse myself in the rock and roll world, and just kind of see what their lives are like.”

“Rock of Ages” opens in theaters June 15th.

On Stars Julianne Hough & Tom Cruise’s French Kiss:
“It was one of the most embarrassing scenes I’ve ever shot in my entire life and I made a family comedy with Vin Diesel so that’s saying a lot. Justin Theroux, the writer, had written in the script, ‘they perform a tongue kiss that is the tongueiest kiss ever tongue kissed in film history.’ And then they did. It looked a little bit more like animals cleaning each other.”

“’I met him [Tom] at Sadie Sandler’s, Adam Sandler’s daughter’s first birthday party. We were drawing, and he approached me and he said ‘I’m Tom Cruise.’ My head almost blew up because I was so scared. I was sitting on a six inch high baby chair and he pulled up this little baby chair next to mine and my knees are basically on my chest!”

On Hearing Tom Sing For The First Time:
“We decided it was time to see if the singing was going to work because otherwise I was gonna go elsewhere and we would figure out something else to do and he did his singing lessons with Axel Rose’s old vocal coach, and I just heard this massive voice coming out of him, just doing scales and exercises and I thought, ‘Omigod, holy hell this is going to work!’ We high fived and I was like a fifteen year old girl jumping around.”

Adam wants Ryan to asked Tom what it was like shooting, “I Don’t Want to know What Love Is,” because that’s a scene where he had to really, really go for it because that’s a scene where he’s actually singing with great sincerity about his longing for love while he’s having sex with Malin Akerman on an air hockey table.”
