About Children’s Privacy
This is the place in cyberspace where fans of Ryan Seacrest can come to find out more about Ryan. In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect from children under age 13 personally identifiable information (information that would allow anyone to locate children under age 13 online or offline, such as full name, email address, home address, telephone number, etc.). Therefore, children under age 13 may not provide any personally identifiable information on this site. However, they can still enjoy our site by viewing the photo galleries, reading about Ryan and other performers, listening to music and participating in other activities that do not require the disclosure of personally identifiable information.
1. Collection of Personal Identifiable Information (“PII”)
1.1. General. RSP collects personal identifiable information (“PII”) such as your full name, email address, mailing address and telephone number only in order to create or enhance our relationship with you. When we collect PII, it is because you are voluntarily submitting this information to us in order to participate in activities such as sweepstakes, contests, games, surveys, forums, subscription registrations, chats or bulletin boards; make comments or suggestions; or request us to furnish you with products, services or information. Where possible, we try to indicate which fields of information are required and which are optional. You always have the option to not provide information by choosing not to use a particular service or feature. On those occasions when we obtain PII from a third party, we only use reputable sources of information.
1.2. Cookies. Cookies are data collection devices in the form of small files that RSP-operated internet sites place on your computer’s hard drive to assist us in providing our services to you.
b. You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although in that case you may not be able to use certain features on the site.
2.1. Whenever RSP collects PII from you, we will ensure that you are informed about who is collecting the information, how and why the information is being collected, and how RSP intends to use the information.
4. Use of PII
4.1. General. RSP may use PII in aggregate, anonymous form for research purposes. In most cases, RSP will delete PII from its records as soon as possible.
4.2. Employees, Agents, Contractors and Affiliates. RSP employees, agents, contractors and affiliates must have a legitimate business reasons to obtain access to your PII. Outside contractors or agents who help us manage our information activities may only use your PII to provide RSP with a specific services, and not for any other purpose.
4.4. Compliance With Legal Requirements. RSP cooperates with law enforcement inquiries as well as other third parties to enforce laws such as intellectual property rights, in order to help protect you and the online community from bad actors. Therefore, in response to a verified request by law enforcement or other government officials relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, we can (and you hereby authorize us to) disclose your name, city, state, telephone number, email address and online history without a subpoena. Without limiting the above, in an effort to respect your privacy and our ability to keep the online community free from bad actors, RSP will not otherwise disclose your personal information to law enforcement or other government officials without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except if RSP believes in good faith that the disclosure of PII is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss or to report suspected illegal activity.
RSP treats your PII as an asset to be protected. RSP uses reasonable administrative, technical, personnel and physical measures to safeguard PII in our possession against theft, loss and unauthorized use, disclosure or modification. In addition, RSP uses reasonable methods to ensure that your PII is accurate, up-to-date and appropriately complete. However, please be advised that “perfect security” does not exist on the internet.
6. Access, Review and Revise Your PII
6.1. Access and Review of PII. Wherever possible, you may review the PII we maintain about you in our databases. To review your PII, please contact RSP at email@example.com. Please be advised that RSP will not be able to provide you with access to PII that we plan to delete from our records as soon as permitted by law. Upon receiving notification from you, RSP will take reasonable steps to correct any PII that you inform us is incorrect.
6.2. Deletion of PII. To delete your PII, please contact RSP at firstname.lastname@example.org. Upon your request, RSP will delete your PII from our database as soon as reasonably possible in accordance with applicable law. Please be advised that there may be residual information that will remain in RSP’s databases that may or may not contain PII. This residual information will not be given to any third party or used for any commercial purpose.
